Government gram sacks seized from leader’s car amid allegations of black marketing

Giridih: In a dramatic turn of events on Sunday, a sack of government-issued gram destined for public distribution was intercepted from a senior leader’s personal vehicle in Jamua, Giridih. The unfolding incident witnessed the intervention of notable figures, including MP representative Rajendra Yadav, MLA representative Baijnath Yadav, and chief representative Sanjeet Yadav.
Upon noticing the escalating situation, the leader, referred to as Netaji, hastily threw the sacks of gram onto the road and fled the scene in his car. The public representatives promptly reported the incident to Giridih District Collector and Jamua Block Development Officer (BDO).

Jamua BDO Kamalendra Kumar Sinha expressed concern over the incident, labeling it a significant breach and theft. Preliminary investigations indicate the involvement of the Block Tehsildar (BTM). Questions were raised about how the office was accessed on a Sunday, and why government-issued gram was loaded into a private vehicle without informing local Panchayat representatives.

BDO Sinha declared that the responsible individuals would face consequences and emphasized that action would be taken following their response to show-cause notices. However, no statement was made regarding potential action against the leader involved in transporting the gram.

Chief of Jamua, Mishtu Devi, alleged that certain officials and personnel were engaged in looting activities within the block. She urged BDO Sinha to file a First Information Report (FIR) in the matter against both those distributing and receiving the gram, warning of further action if no FIR was registered.
Adding to the chorus of dissent, Jamua Congress President Mahsar Imam highlighted a pattern of irregularities, citing previous instances of mustard meant for farmers being pilfered from the office. Imam warned of potential agitation by the Congress if an FIR was not promptly filed by Jamua BDO.
The incident has become a topic of widespread discussion, with attempts to contact Netaji proving futile as his phone remains switched off. The local community awaits official responses and actions in the wake of this controversy.
