Jamshedpur: State Congress president Sukhdev Bhagat on Tuesday demanded compensation for the next of kin of those lynched by villagers in Bagbera and Rajnagar police station areas on 18th May last.
Speaking to mediapersons at the Circuit House, Bhagat alleged that the law and order situation in the state had worsened in the last several days.
He said the barbaric killings showed that many people in the state were still living in primitive state. While on one hand Chief Minister Raghubar Das is organizing Momentum Jharkhand in the state for its development, shocking incidents of lynching of people by armed mob at different places across the state expose the dismal and horrific situation. This is very unfortunate for the people of Jharkhand, he said.
Bhagat criticized the CM for not visiting the households of those killed in the lynching incidents. He said the next of kin of the deceased persons should be given Rs 25 lakh each.
Yesterday, Bhagat had met the family members of those killed in the recent lynching incidents and condoled the tragic deaths.
