Jamshedpur: A special investigation team of the city police cracked a burglary case that was reported on September 17 in Golmuri. The theft had taken place in a residential flat, where unknown miscreants had decamped with valuables.
Following investigation, technical surveillance, and intelligence inputs, the police team exposed the involvement of an inter-state gang of burglars and arrested three accused persons. During the arrests, the police recovered a country-made pistol, two live cartridges, silver ornaments, and other stolen articles from their possession.
According to police officials, the accused were operating across state borders and were involved in multiple theft cases using a similar modus operandi. Preliminary interrogation of the suspects revealed that all three arrested individuals have prior criminal records, with their involvement in earlier cases of theft and related offences.
The recovery of illegal arms along with stolen property highlights the seriousness of the crime and the potential threat posed by the gang. Police officials stated that further questioning is underway to trace additional accomplices and to recover remaining stolen items.
