Jamshedpur: Both A and B teams of the Tata Motors Workers Union advanced to the semi-finals on the second day of the three-day 5th Gopeshwar Lal Das Memorial Tata Inter-Company Unions Volleyball Tournament, organised by the Tata Motors Sports Department. The day witnessed thrilling matches among six participating teams.
In the opening match, Tata Kamgar Union defeated Tata Workers Union Red in a closely contested encounter, winning 2–1. The second match saw Tata Workers Union Blue put up a strong performance to beat JCAPCPL Workers Union in straight sets, registering a convincing 2–0 victory.
Tata Motors Workers Union’s A team continued its dominant run by defeating Tata Tinplate Workers Union 2–0, showcasing excellent coordination and skill. The B team of Tata Motors Workers Union also maintained its winning momentum. Facing Tata Cummins Kamgar Union, which had earlier advanced through a walkover, the B team secured a comfortable 2–0 win in an exciting match.
With these victories, both the A and B teams of Tata Motors Workers Union successfully booked their places in the semi-finals, strengthening their claim in the tournament.
The semi-final matches will be played on Sunday. Tata Motors Workers Union A team will take on Tata Workers Union Blue, while Tata Motors Workers Union B team will face Tata Kamgar Union. The final of the tournament is also scheduled to be held on Sunday, promising an action-packed conclusion to the competition.
