Ghatshila, Mar 18: Members of the Jharkhand Bangbhashi Unnayan Samiti are elated as the names of railway stations, including Ghatsila, are now prominently displayed in Bangla language. This development has been warmly welcomed, with gratitude extended towards the Railway Administration and the Jharkhand Government.

Tapas Chatterjee, Central Co-Secretary of the Jharkhand Bangabhashi Unnayan Samiti, expressed satisfaction over the fulfillment of a longstanding demand of the Bengali community. He credited the concerted efforts of committee members and officers for this achievement, highlighting their unwavering commitment.

Chatterjee recounted that the committee had issued an ultimatum to the railway administration on March 11, urging the prompt implementation of Bangla language signage at seven railway stations. Promptly responding to this call, the railway administration initiated the process of displaying names in Bangla language at various stations.

Despite years of advocacy by the committee, previous appeals had not yielded positive outcomes from the railway administration. However, the recent proactive stance has been met with appreciation and recognition from the Bengali community.

Tapas Chatterjee expressed gratitude towards Chairman Bengu Thakur, Central President Achintam Gupto, Working President Reena Mandal, General Secretary Rajesh Rai, and other members for their steadfast support and advocacy.
