Seraikela: Renowned French filmmaker and documentary maker Vincent Moon, along with his associate Miss Julie, visited the residence of Padma Shri late Guru Kedar Nath Sahu on Sunday. The purpose of their visit was to shoot a documentary on the celebrated Seraikela Chhau art. They were warmly welcomed by Guru Malay Kumar Sahu, the director of Shri Kedar Art Center Seraikela.
During the visit, Vincent Moon explored rare photographs and documents related to Guru Kedar Nath Sahu’s legacy, which are showcased in the gallery at the Shri Kedar Art Centre. “The Seraikela Chhau dance is a complete art form in itself. Guru Kedar Nath Sahu’s lifetime dedication to this art is an exemplary demonstration of love and devotion,” said Moon. He praised the ongoing efforts of Guru Malay Kumar Sahu to preserve and promote the art form, calling them “highly commendable.”
Moon also expressed his appreciation for local media coverage during his stay. He took a copy of The Avenue Mail, the region’s only English-language newspaper, after expressing his desire to stay informed about local news. Upon reading the newspaper, Moon expressed satisfaction with the coverage, adding, “It is essential for visitors like me to stay updated with local developments.”
