Jamshedpur, October 7: District administration has selected parking space for the Durga Puja festivity in the city.
A parking space will be made outside every puja pandal for which volunteers of the puja committee have been given the responsibility to look after the arrangements.
District administration has ordered parking of vehicles in the space provided and it should be totally free of cost. Parking facilities have come up near the crowded puja pandals and which draw large number of people every year.
Earlier the administration had decided to hand over the parking arrangements to the workers of the contractors through a tender process.
But during a meeting of administration and Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee (JNAC) officers it was decided that volunteers of the concerned puja committee should handle the parking arrangements and it should be totally free of cost.
‘The district administration has decided that puja committee volunteers will handle the parking arrangements at the concerned puja pandals and the parking for every vehicle will be free of cost’, said Deepak Sahay, special officer, JNAC.
For the Kashidih Durga Puja the parking space have come up in the premises of Thakur Pyara Singh High School, vacant land and near road near Kasidih Shiv Mandir, People’s Academy Baradwari (For big vehicles). At Bhuiyadih the vacant land from the West of mortuary till private bus stand, half the premises of Mango government bus stand, Chandinagar Maidan and Adivasi School premises behind the pandal.
At Garamnala Durga Puja the Rabindra Bhawan and Rajendra Vidyalaya ground. At Sitaramdera the parking space have come up at Birsa Munda ground in Old Sitaramdera, Community Centre ground, ground at the back of labour department and near the pandal. For the Tuila Dungri puja pandal the parking facilities have come up at 407 stand near RD Tata roundabout and vacant space nea car washing bay from Kalimati road to Burmamines way.
For Hind Club Durga Puja pandal the visitors can park their vehicles at Kadma Police Station premises, Ranikudar Dhobighat and Kadma Ganesh Puja ground for big vehicles. For visitors to Circuit House puja must park their vehicles at Loyola School ground and behind circuit house petrol pump.
