Jamshedpur, December 26: A free eye check-up camp was organised at Tata Steel Zoological Park (TSZP) on the occasion of Christmas and visit of Rotarian John Ranger Miles and Rotary Spouse Fiona Pauline Miles.
The event, a joint effort of TSZP in collaboration with Rotary Club Jamshedpur, Jamshedpur Eye Hospital and Tata Steel Foundation, witnessed 31 beneficiaries cum zoo visitors whose eyes were checked by experienced professionals.
John and Fiona are known world-wide for their charity work in the field of eye care and helping the poor people in maintaining their eye vision. They are founder of Globalsightsolutions.org which works for the restoring the sights of the poor.
The event was organized under the guidance of Deputy Director Dr. Naim Akhtar, TSZP who expressed his gratitude to all the members involved in making this initiative a success. The occasion was graced by eminent Rotarians, including Rtn. John Ranger Miles and Rotary Spouse Fiona Pauline Miles.
Other distinguished Rotary members who contributed to the event included Ex-President Madhumita Santra, Past District Governor R. Bharat, Rtn Dr Vijaya Bharat, Rtn Rohan Mehta, Rtn Jagannath Santra and Rotarian Ram Murti.
This initiative reflects TSZP’s commitment to community welfare, emphasizing health and well-being beyond its conservation efforts. The collaboration of these esteemed organizations brought this meaningful event to life, reaffirming the power of collective action in serving the community. Eye Glasses were distributed to 6 people at free of cost.
