Jamshedpur, Dec 26: The schedules of 20 trains operating from Tatanagar, including those to Patna, Berhampur, Bengaluru, and Ernakulam, will be changed from the start of the new year. Departure times for these trains will shift by 5 to 25 minutes, according to the South Eastern Railway.
Key timetable changes include: Tatanagar-Ernakulam Express: 5:00 AM departure instead of 5:15 AM, Tatanagar-Visakhapatnam Express: 7:25 AM instead of 7:20 AM, Tatanagar-Yesvantpur Express: 5:45 PM instead of 6:15 PM, Tatanagar-Bengaluru Express: 5:45 PM instead of 7:15 PM, Tata-Bilaspur Express: 7:00 PM instead of 7:45 PM, Tatanagar-Rourkela MEMU: 3:20 PM instead of 3:35 PM, Tatanagar-Berhampur Vande Bharat: 2:30 PM instead of 2:50 PM, Tatanagar-Buxar Express: 7:55 AM instead of 8:15 AM, Tatanagar-Hatia Express: 11:50 AM instead of 12:00 PM.
Other trains, including the Tatanagar-Godda Express, Tatanagar-Amritsar Jallianwala Bagh Express, and Tatanagar-Chapra Express, will also see adjusted departure times ranging from 5 to 25 minutes earlier than before.
In addition to the timetable changes, the numbers of 22 pairs of local trains starting or passing through the Chakradharpur division, including Tatanagar, will also be altered starting January 1. The updated train numbers will no longer include the leading zero, as per an order from South Eastern Railway Headquarters.
Notable local trains affected include Tatanagar MEMU services to Badampahar, Tatanagar-Chakradharpur, Tatanagar-Hatia, and Tatanagar-Barkakana. However, officials clarified that these changes will not affect train fares.
The adjustments are part of a broader reorganization by South Eastern Railway to improve efficiency and streamline operations across all divisions.
