Former CM Champai Soren announces water project, prays at Shamshan Kali Temple

Seraikela, July 20: Former Chief Minister and Seraikela MLA Champai Soren made several significant announcements and participated in religious activities during his recent visit to Seraikela-Kharsawan district. Soren revealed that water from the Gazia Barrage in Gamharia will soon reach 8-9 panchayats via pipeline, with the project nearing inauguration. He also announced plans for three weirs to be constructed on the Kharkai river at Titirbila, Pauri, and another location, aimed at benefiting nearby panchayats and enabling year-round crop cultivation.

Addressing farming concerns, Soren acknowledged the lack of rainfall in July, which has caused difficulties for farmers. He assured that the government is aware of the situation and will take action soon. The former CM emphasized that the water projects would alleviate water shortages in fields and enable farmers to diversify their crop production throughout the year.

During his visit, Soren offered prayers at the Shamshan Kali temple at Maa Jhumkeshwari Sthan in Seraikela, praying for the prosperity of the region and the state. He also visited the new bus stand and partook of prasad. Additionally, Soren inaugurated the press club built in the block office.

The former CM was accompanied by over a hundred supporters during his visit. Notable attendees included District Council President Sonaram Bodra, MLA representative Sanad Acharya, Lipu Mohanty, Bada Babu Singhdev, and other JMM workers.
