Jamshedpur: Quick action saves 4-year child from drowning in pond

Jamshedpur, July 20: In a heart-stopping incident at Darisai Sabar Basti, a four-year-old child’s life was precariously hung in balance as he accidentally fell into a local pond. The child, identified as Sandeep Sabar, had been playing with other village children on Saturday when the mishap occurred. Fortunately, a vigilant youth, present at the scene, acted swiftly to rescue the child from the waters. The unconscious child was immediately rushed to the subdivisional hospital in Ghatshila, where he received medical attention from Dr. Vikas Mardi. The child’s father, Vishu Sabar, recounted the harrowing moments, stating that Sandeep had returned from the Anganwadi centre and was playing after lunch when the accident happened unnoticed. The community breathed a collective sigh of relief as the young Sandeep’s condition stabilized, marking a fortunate end to what could have been a devastating tragedy.
