Focus on goal regardless of obstacles: Atrayee Sarkar

CII-IWN organises session with women leaders of new era

Jamshedpur, Dec 1: Confederation of Indian Industry-Indian Women Network (CII-IWN) Jharkhand Chapter in association with India@75 organised a session with women professionals and entrepreneurs who began their professional and entrepreneurial journey surpassing all the challenges thrown their way and emerging victorious

The Session showcased the journeys of some of the dynamic Indian women leaders, who have set benchmarks in their chosen fields.

The session deliberated on women professionals and entrepreneurs of today who are chartering unknown territories unabashedly and fearlessly to achieve their goals.

Addressing the session Atrayee Sarkar Sanyal, Vice President-Human Resource Management (Designate), Tata Steel Limited said that the fire within an individual should never get extinguished  and with great enthusiasm one should be focused towards one’s goal irrespective of what comes  until one achieves their  desired goal with proper planning and execution, she also said to always make a difference to the lives of people and do good to people and advised participants to always be curious and ask questions.

Addressing the Session Dr Rupali Basu, Director & CEO, Woodlands Hospital said that the things that matter to succeed and win are superior technical intelligence, uninfluenceable integrity, unhindered focus, execution with highest possible standards, passion to deliver and resilience to overcome bad times; what doesn’t matter is one’s  gender, geography or genes.

Addressing the session Dr Saumya Singh, Head, Department of Management Studies and Centre of Innovation & Associate Dean, Incubation and Entrepreneurship, Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines) Said that Even though things have changed, yet the glass ceiling is still there to venture out for an independent career. But if I try to recapitulate my experience things are certainly improving.

With the moral conditioning we have been brought up with, we often are found to be asking questions to ourselves about who we are, how strong we are, what have we been able to achieve, what could we have achieved more had the situations been more favorable, can we make situations more favorable to our daughters who are going to take the lead further and so on.

Swastika Basu, Chairwoman, CII-IWN Jharkhand Chapter & Chief-Enterprise Risk Management, Tata Steel Limited moderated the session and stated that “these women of substance have forayed paths not only for themselves but also portrayed success stories for their peers. Their stories are  the stories of grit, determination and positivity and the courage that is inherent in a woman to face the challenges of life, the courage to break stereotypes and the courage of not limiting their ambitions”.

Kanchan Kumari, Vice Chairwoman, CII-IWN  Jharkhand Chapter & DGM-Quality, Tata Cummins Private Limited was also present during the session.
