Five arrested in Jamshedpur loot case, two country pistols recovered

Jamshedpur, Feb 27: Police have succeeded in solving the loot from a woman resident of Road Number 17 under Mango thana area with the arresting of five persons and recovery of two country made pistols and four live cartridges and stolen mobile phones on Saturday. 

The woman  Farhat Yasmin, a resident of Haldar Mahato Colony in Road number 17 was looted at the point of arms on February 12. 

DIG Kolhan Rajiv Ranjan Singh disclosed this to the media on Saturday, that the five persons namely Wasim Ansari (Dimna Basti), Shahjada Alam (Kapali), Mohammed Shafique Ali, Sheikh Nisar (all Kapali) and Viru Kumar Gupta (Ulidih Krishna Path) were arrested and Wasim Ansari was the leader of the gang and on the day of the incident, Wasim, Shahjada and Mohammed Shafique had gone to the house of the woman and did the loot while the fourth accused Sheikh Nisar did a recee while Viru Kumar Gupta purchased the looted mobile from the accused. The weapons were recovered on the confession of Wasim. 

Incidentally, on the afternoon of February 12, Farhat Yasmin who was in her house along with her daughter in Mango was looted of her gold locket, two mobile phones by three armed person at point of gun. After loot the criminals had assaulted the woman with butt of the pistol which led to her injury. A case was registered against unidentified miscreants on the complaint of the woman.
