Jamshedpur, Sept 29 :As Jharkhand gears up for the grand celebrations of Durga Puja, the India Meteorological Department ( IMD) has issued a detailed weather advisory for the festive period.
Residents and visitors are advised to stay updated, as intermittent rainfall and gusty winds are likely to accompany the festivities.
Weather Forecast:
September 30 (Mahashtami):
Thunderstorm and lightning with gusty wind, reaching speeds of 30–40 Kmph, are likely at isolated places across the state.
Light to moderate rainfall is expected in pockets, creating a breezy but festive atmosphere.
October 1 (Mahanavami):
Similar conditions of isolated thunderstorms and lightning with gusty winds (30–40 Kmph) are expected throughout the day.
Localized heavy rainfall may occur over north-eastern and adjoining central parts of Jharkhand.
October 2 (Dussehra):
Thunderstorm activity accompanied by gusty winds will continue at isolated locations across the state.
Heavy rainfall is expected at isolated places in north-eastern and adjoining north-central regions, potentially affecting some outdoor celebrations.
October 3- 4
Scattered heavy rainfall is likely in parts of the state, with thunderstorms persisting in isolated locations.
Synoptic Summary:
Currently, no significant synoptic system is present over Jharkhand.
An upper air cyclonic circulation persists over north coastal Andhra Pradesh, extending between 1.5 Km and 5.8 Km above the mean sea level, tilting southwards with height.
Another cyclonic circulation is likely to emerge over the north Andaman Sea on September 30.
This may lead to the formation of a low-pressure area over the north and adjoining central Bay of Bengal around October 1, influencing rainfall activity in Jharkhand.
Festive Advisory:
While mild showers may enhance the festive vibe, devotees are advised to carry umbrellas and raincoats.
Safety precautions should be observed during outdoor rituals, processions, and pandal visits due to occasional gusty winds.
