Ranchi, December 8: Police have solved the case of death threats sent to Minister of State for Defence and Ranchi MP Sanjay Seth. Delhi Police, with assistance from Ranchi Police, arrested Minazul, a resident of Kanke police station area, for orchestrating the threats using a SIM card registered in the name of Moiz, his daughter’s boyfriend.
Investigations revealed that Minazul was displeased with his daughter’s relationship with Moiz. In an attempt to frame Moiz, Minazul used his daughter’s phone, along with the SIM card provided by Moiz, to send threatening messages to the minister.
Sanjay Seth received a text message demanding a ransom of ₹50 lakh and threatening his life, signed off with ‘Lal Salaam.’ Upon receiving the threat, Seth informed the police, prompting an immediate investigation.
A team from Delhi Police travelled to Ranchi and coordinated with local authorities to locate and arrest Minazul in the Hochar area under Kanke police station. The investigation revealed the messages were part of Minazul’s ploy to implicate Moiz.
The case highlighted the swift collaboration between Delhi and Ranchi police, ensuring the security of the minister and bringing the perpetrator to justice.
