Father and son commit suicide on railway track in Jamshedpur, FIR against in-laws

Jamshedpur, Sept 9: A 45-year-old man and a 10-year-old boy committed suicide on the railway track near Khairbani level crossing under Govindpur police station area on Wednesday morning.The bodies were identified as that of Inder Sonkar and Naitik Sonkar, both father and son, and resident of Dhatkidih in Bistupur. Soon after the incident, Govindpur police started probe.

Govindpur thana OC, Ranjit Kumar said that they are investigating the incident and as per initial probe it seems to be case of suicide. A scooter was also parked near the mishap place.  ” After recovering the bodies we tried to locate the whereabouts of the deceased by getting the scooter’s registration number verified through the district transport office. After this we get to know about the victims,” said the officer.

Soon afterward, the Govindpur thana OC informed the Bistupur officer Ranvijay Sharma about the sensational incident on the railway track in Govindpur. The police have also recovered a suicidal note left by Inder Sonkar from his room in Dhatkidih.
OC,  Ranvijay Sharma said this is a case of double suicide and it is clear to be suicide only because of the suicidal note that the police recovered from the deceased Inder Sonkar’s house.

The OC said “in the suicidal note,  the deceased Inder Sonkar has claimed that it was due to his in-laws that he was committing suicide along with his son.  On the basis of the suicide note, we have registered a case under 306 of the IPC section against the in-laws’ of the deceased on Wednesday.”

As the family members of the deceased’s persons had on Tuesday evening lodged a missing persons report with the Bistupur thana, a police party started investigation into the twin deaths.  
Indra Sonkar was a resident of Dhatkidih. Currently he was living in Sonari. Inder Sonkar’s wife died in August. The wife’s parents had threatened to send him to jail. After this, Indra Sonkar was very tense and disturbed. The post mortem report is awaited come. Police are currently investigating the case.
