Noamundi, Jan. 6: Awareness sessions for farmers were organized during the 26th Annual Flower & Vegetable Show at Tata Steel Noamundi on Friday.
The sessions were on the use of pesticides in vegetable cropping and preparation of vermicomposting. These sessions were conducted by Dr Sanjay Sathi, Scientist of Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jagannathpur and Ms April Maytiu, Farm Manager, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Jagannathpur.
The farmers appreciated the efforts of Tata Steel for creating awareness among them and providing them with an opportunity to interact with the experts.
The question answer session was very useful, the farmers felt. Total 75 farmers from villages across Noamundi and Katamati participated in the awareness sessions.
These farmers had also put up stalls on various produce from their fields.
Several dignitaries like the spouses of the senior officials from the South Eastern Railway, Chakradharpur visited the 26th Annual Flower & Vegetable Show at the Sports Complex, Noamundi and were delighted to see the exhibits and the flower arrangements by various institutions like Tata Steel Kalinganager,Tata Sponge, Bilaipada, Jindal Steel & Power Limited, Barbil, SAIL, Gua Iron Mine, Joda East Iron Mine of Tata Steel, Sarda Mines Private Limited, Barbil, among others.
