Ranchi, Nov. 14: Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that extremism free and crime free Jharkhand is his priority.
Though crime has been controlled to a greater extent but it must be eradicated. In order to meet the shortage of police personnel, appointments are being made, he said.
�Next year 10,000 police personnel will be recruited. Thereafter 2500 police personnel will be appointed every year. Youths in extremism affected areas will be appointed as assistant police officers.
They will be paid Rs 10,000 and after three years, they will be appointed directly. Residential modern school will be built in Ranchi to educate the children of police personnel,� said Das while speaking at the Jharkhand Police Investiture Ceremony.
The CM said that peace and development are the two wheels of development. They are complementary. �The government is trying to make the police up-to-date. Basic infrastructure is being improved. Big investment is needed to give employment to the youths. We have received proposals to invest Rs 24,000 crore. The government is training the people as well,� he said.
He said that the whole police department is held guilty due to the misdeeds of a few officers and staff. Such practice should stop.
The CM appealed to the people to support the campaign of Prime Minister Narendra Modi against black money.
Earlier, the CM felicitated the dependents of martyrs and awarded people doing good job.
