Expect Jamshedpur to retain first spot in vaccine drive: Banna Gupta

Jamshedpur, March 16: The vaccination program for the age group of 12-14 years at Keenan Stadium in Bistupur was inaugurated in the district today by Jharkhand Health and Disaster Management Minister, Banna Gupta. The vaccination drive commenced with the symbolic inoculation of five children.

The Health Minister in his address said, “It is expected that East Singhbhum will retain the first spot in the entire state in the current drive of vaccinating children in the age group of 12 to 14 years. I have full confidence in the leadership abilities of Deputy Commissioner, Vijaya Jadhav who will help East Singhbhum district to attain newer heights in health, civic amenities and other zones of development.” Health minister Banna Gupta informed that thje target of vaccinating children in the age group of 12 to 14 years had been fixed at 15.94 lakh children across the state and sopught people’s cooperation for achieving the target.

 Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav stated that the target for vaccination of children in the 12-14 years age group had been put at 1 lakh 10 thousand 843 children in East Singhbhum district. She urged all district residents including parents to make the campaign meet its purpose by taking their children to their nearest health centre, school, PHC, CHC and getting them vaccinated. The DC observed, “The cooperation of district residents, people’s representatives, Anganwadi Sevikas and Sahiyas and women SHGs will not only help in attainment of the target but take the district vaccination count of the 12-14 years age group to the highest pedestal.”

Those present during the inaugural occasion included Senior In-charge of Vaccination Cell-cum-SDM Dhalbhum Sandeep Kumar Meena, Nodal-cum-DSO of Vaccination Cell, Rajiv Ranjan, Civil Surgeon Dr AK Lal, DRCHO Dr Jujhar Majhi and other officials.
