Jamshedpur: National SC Commission member Yogendra Paswan visited Jamshedpur as a part of his two day tour. He held a review meeting with the district officials and gave them directives for action against people reportedly torturing members of the SC community.
Deputy Commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar, SSP Anup Birtharay, DDC B Maheshwari and other senior officials were present in the meeting.
Paswan took strong exception to the reported embezzlement of funds allotted for the construction of toilets for Dalit community members in the West Ghorabandha Panchayat in which the Mukhiya and Jal Sahiya are accused.
The National SC Commission member directed the DC to take immediate action against the accused. �Take strong action against such accused persons,� he recommended to the DC. The Block Office and PHD Department had been entrusted with the enquiry of the incident of misappropriation of funds and the allegations were found to be true.
BJP district spokesperson Ankit Anand led a team comprising the deputy Mukhiya Ravishankar Pandey including deprived women and senior citizens of the Dalit community of West Singhbhum Panchayat who met and urged Yogendra Paswan to take action against the accused in the toilet fund embezzlement case.
