Jamshedpur: East Singhbhum administration here on Monday launched an electoral roll revision programme across the district.
District administration sources said special focus would be on adding the new voters who have attained the age of majority recently. Efforts would be made to provide the voters’ slip to all voters.
As per the directive received from the Election Commission of India, the electoral list (prototype) was published today. The claims and objections regarding the list would be received by the administration till 15th November. From 23rd October till 7th November, the gram sabhas would hold meetings to read out the electoral roll.
Special campaigns would be run on 29th October and 5th November. The claims and objections would be disposed on 11th December. The database of voters would be updated on 29th December. The final electoral roll would be published on 8th January.
