Election awareness observer visits polling booths

Jamshedpur: A team of election officials led by election awareness observer Ritu Shukla and the special officer of Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee Deepak Sahay today paid a visit to various polling booths in the city to spread greater awareness among the voters.

The election officials said the purpose of the visit was to find out the ground situation and work being done by the administration to spread awareness among the voters.

They went inside the booths to assess whether Election Commission guidelines in this regard were being followed or not.

�We are trying to spread awareness among the voters and requesting them to exercise their voting rights. People must vote and also keep in mind the time during which the polling will take place.

The voting will take place from 7 am till 3 pm. It is the duty of the voters to exercise their voting rights,� said Shukla.

Deepak Sahay too, said the administration had planned to spread awareness among the voters through various means. He said the voting percentage should increase as a result of the ongoing efforts.
