Jamshedpur: Former DC of East Singhbhum and retired IAS officer Gorelal Yadav quit Jharkhand Vikas Morcha on Monday following delay on part of the party to give him ticket from Jamshedpur west constituency.
“It is unfortunate that the party has not even announced to give ticket to me. I was assured of the party ticket from the Jamshedpur west constituency.
The JVM leaders brought me to Jamshedpur after persuading me. But I waited and waited without anything really happened as expected,” said Yadav while speaking to scribes after his resignation.
Yadav said he expected to win the elections by dint of the huge support of the people of the city due to the good work done by him as the DC of the district.
He said the JVM could have reaped the benefit of his popularity and public image. The possibility was lost by the delaying tactics of the JVM leaders, he said.
“Many political parties had approached me and assured to extend support to me. But I stuck to the JVM in anticipation of the ticket.
But in the end, I was disappointed as the party president Babulal Marandi was apparently finding it rather tough to give me the ticket,” said Yadav.
