Jamshedpur, April 28: Tata Steel organized a webinar on “Preventing Serious Injury and Fatality” on the occasion of World Steel Day for Safety and Health, reinforcing its strong commitment to workplace safety. The session witnessed participation from over 2,000 employees and contract workers across its operations.

Addressing the participants, Rajiv Mangal, Vice President (Safety, Health and Sustainability), emphasized the importance of identifying potential risks at an early stage to prevent serious injuries and fatalities. He stated, “Early detection and proactive measures are key to avoiding workplace incidents,” while stressing the need to build a strong culture of care within the organization.

The webinar highlighted the importance of prompt reporting of incidents, immediate medical response, and maintaining transparency without hiding facts. Officials noted that these practices are essential to improving safety outcomes and ensuring accountability.

Discussions also focused on enhancing safety standards across the company’s ecosystem. Emphasis was laid on improving vendor ratings and increasing the number of four-star and five-star vendors. The adoption of high-quality personal protective equipment and alignment of safety practices across associated companies were also highlighted as key priorities.
