DPS shooting: Victim released from TMH, referred to CMC Vellore

Jamshedpur, June 27: The 17-year-old Sudhanshu Kumar, a student of Dayanand Public School who was admitted�at Tata Main Hospital(TMH) on June 22 with gun-shot injuries,�was�released from the hospital on Monday afternoon.

But shockingly the pellet�of�the 7.65 mm pistol is still stuck�inside his spine, which is matter of great concern for the parents.

Devendra Kumar Gupta, father of the gun-shot victim, said that the Tata Main Hospital management has referred his son to CMC Vellore for getting the pellet removed.

“Doctors at the Tata Main Hospital has referred Sudhanshu to CMC Vellore, he will be staying at home at least for the next five-six days. During this period we will have to arrange for the train tickets and also money for the treatment at the hospital,” said Gupta, who is a practicing lawyer in the Jamshedpur civil court.

Gupta, when queried, said though his son has survived from the bullet injury in the lungs at the Tata Main Hospital, the danger will continue to remain until the pellet is removed.

The class XI student of Dayanand Public School in Sakchi, Sudhanshu had sustained bullet injury as one of his classmate had reportedly mistakenly pressed the trigger while showing him the gun in the classroom on June 22 morning.� The classmate was immediately arrested and the police recovered two pistols from the bag of the accused student during a search operation that followed.

Meanwhile, officer in-charge of Sakchi police station, Anjani Kumar Tiwary said that Sunny Singh and Vivek Kumar, who were arrested two days ago from Mango in connection with the incident, have confessed that two pistols which were recovered from accused student of Dayannand Public School had been given to him by one Rakesh Kumar of Mango.

“We are looking for one Rakesh Kumar who had given Sunny the two pistols with which firing incident that had�taken place at Dayanand Public School.

We believe that the pistols which were recovered from a school student’s bag after firing incident at Dayanand Public School belonged to gang responsible for the murder of Shanbabu in Adityapur,” said Tiwary.��
