Jamshedpur, Jan 7:Under the directions of Deputy Municipal Commissioner Krishna Kumar, a special awareness and enforcement campaign was conducted across the Mango Municipal Corporation area to strengthen the door-to-door waste collection system.
Residents of flats, street vendors, shopkeepers and local households were sensitised about handing over household and commercial waste exclusively to municipal garbage collection vehicles.
The public was clearly instructed not to dump waste on roadsides, street corners or within lanes and neighbourhoods.
Officials warned that anyone found disposing of garbage in public places would be fined as per municipal rules. Citizens were also urged to cooperate in keeping the urban area clean and hygienic.
During the campaign, it was informed that garbage collection vehicles are being made available in almost all localities to ensure effective door-to-door collection.
People were advised to give their waste only to these vehicles and avoid littering in any form.
The drive was aimed at promoting cleanliness and ensuring a sustainable waste management system in the city.
Food and Sanitary Inspector Sanjay Kumar, along with sanitation supervisors Vikas Kumar, Pramod Kumar, Anil Kumar, Rakesh Kumar and others, were present during the campaign.
