Ranchi: DGP Rajiv Kumar has been relieved from the post. He will take charge as DG Training. DK Pandey will be the new DGP of the State.
Ashok Kumar Sinha has been made DG Rail. Reliable sources said that the decision has been taken at the DPC meeting held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Rajiv Gauba. Department of Home has issued a notification in this regard.
The new DGP DK Pandey, an IPS of 1984 batch, has earlier been posted as DIG Bokaro Range, IG Ranchi Zone, IG Operations and IG Jharkhand Jaguar.
The department of Home might issue related notification of reshuffle of officials late this night. It is to be mentioned here that DK Pandey took charge at Police headquarters after being relieved from Central deputation on Monday.
Earlier Pandey had served as ADG CRPF in Delhi during his deputation. Jharkhand Government had earlier requested Union Home Ministry to relive DK Pandey from Central deputation and repatriate him in Jharkhand. Acting on the directive of Union Home department the DG CRPF has relieved Pandey from Central Deputation on last Thursday.
