District level Aadhaar monitoring committee meeting held in Jamshedpur

Jamshedpur: A review meeting of the District Level Aadhaar Monitoring Committee was convened under the instructions of the District Magistrate and Deputy Commissioner,  Ananya Mittal. The meeting, chaired by Deputy Development Commissioner  Manish Kumar, undertook a comprehensive review of the Aadhaar Centers in East Singhbhum district.

Currently, there are 148 Aadhaar registration and update centers operating across the district. These centers are facilitated by the Information Technology and E-Governance Department, Pragya Kendra, Education Department, Post Office, India Post Payment Bank, Bank, and Aadhaar Seva Kendra.

The Deputy Development Commissioner has directed the submission of proposals to the concerned department and the UIDAI Regional Office in Ranchi for opening new Aadhaar Registration Centers at key locations including the Samaharanalaya Complex, JNAC, Mango Municipal Corporation, Jugaslai Municipal Council, Sadar Hospital, and MGM Hospital.

The Project Officer, UID, has been instructed to expedite the process of starting Aadhaar registration with a new machine at the permanent Aadhaar registration center in Musabani block. The Education Department has been tasked with ensuring that all school children are registered for Aadhaar through dedicated camps.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the Postal Department’s performance in Aadhaar registration and updates, the Deputy Development Commissioner emphasized the need for increased efficiency. Additionally, India Post Payments Bank has been directed to conduct Aadhaar registration for children under five years old through camps in collaboration with the Department of Social Welfare.

Efforts are underway to reopen the closed Aadhaar center in Central Jail Ghaghidih and to link the observation home with the jail for Aadhaar registration. Given Musabani block’s status as an aspirational block, the opening of more Aadhaar registration centers there has been prioritized.

A directive has been issued to open Aadhaar registration centers in all bank and post office branches. A committee will be formed to inspect the existing Aadhaar centers in the district. This inspection committee will include the District Project Officer, UID, E-Distic Manager, and CSC Manager.

The meeting saw the participation of key stakeholders, including Civil Surgeon Dr. Jujhar Majhi, District Project Officer UID, E-District Manager, CSC Manager, representatives from the Education Department, India Post Payment Bank, and Post Office.
