Noamundi, July 31: At the ongoing holy month of Shrawan, more than 1.5 lakh devotees offered holy water at Murga Mahadev temple on the occasion of fourth Somvari on July 31.
Vice president of the temple, Veera Nayak said, devotees in large number from Odisha , Jharkhand, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh walked on foot throughout the day with holy water to offer water on the Phallic of Lord Shiva on Monday Morning.
Nayak further said that strict security arrangements are in place were district and police administration is making sure that no untoward incident is reported during the festival.
Noamundi police is also patrolling round the clock. Several refreshments and Prasad stalls have been put up by social organisations and corporate houses for the devotees.
The temple committee has also engaged three hundred volunteer to ensure discipline within the temple premises. Medical team is also on alert to treat the patients.
