Jamshedpur : Amidst the rising cases of road mishaps in city, the deputy superintendent of police (headquarters-II) Jagdish Kumar Prasad was seriously injured as a teenaged scooty rider hit him near Dorabjee Modi Park on Straight Mile Road under Bistupur police station area on Sunday morning.
The DSP immediately was rushed to Tata Main Hospital for the treatment. He received injuries in legs and head.
The scooty rider who is a minor and also sustained injuries was rushed to the MGM Medical College and Hospital’s emergency for the treatment.
Prasad was walking to reach his official jeep parked near the road, but as he was about to cross the busy road, a two-wheeler hit him, causing him to fall on the ground.
A police party came to the spot and took the DSP was immediately taken toward Tata Main Hospital. Later the scooty was seized by another police party which had come to the spot later on.
The injured was taken to MGM Hospital where he received first aid.
Officer-in-charge, Bistupur police station, AK Yadav said the boy who caused the mishap is a minor and is now under police custody and the two-wheeler in question seized.
“We are investigating into what led to the mishap. We have called the boy’s parents to discuss about the course of action the police may take against him,� noted the officer.
