Ranchi: Jharkhand state Congress committee general secretary Keshav Mahato Kamlesh has written to the party president Sonia Gandhi, vice president Rahul Gandhi and Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to demand inclusion of Kurmis of the state in the Scheduled Tribe category.
He said the Mahatos also belong to Kurmi community and hence should be accorded the status of ST.
