Jamshedpur, June 27: Jamshedpur residents have raised their voices for the construction of a foot over bridge at Jugsalai Railway Gate and addressed other crucial civic concerns. The AJSU Party District Committee submitted a memorandum to the Assistant Engineer Railway Tatanagar, emphasizing the urgent need for infrastructure improvements in the area.

During the submission of the memorandum, Kanhaiya Singh, the District President of AJSU Party, highlighted the pressing issues faced by the community. He emphasized that waterlogging occurs under the railway bridge, stretching from Veer Kunwar Singh Chowk to Pigment Gate, making it challenging for both pedestrians and vehicles to navigate. The accumulation of water has led to significant potholes on the road under the culvert, posing an increased risk of accidents.

Furthermore, the culvert running from the station to Sankata Singh Petrol Pump, extending up to Star Talkies, is riddled with potholes and urgently requires repairs. The road from Sankata Singh Petrol Pump Chowk to Chaibasa Bus Stand, which serves as a major route, is in a dangerous condition and has witnessed numerous accidents. Despite assurances from the concerned department regarding the construction of a foot over bridge at Jugsalai railway gate, no progress has been made thus far. This lack of infrastructure directly affects the convenience and safety of local residents, particularly the elderly and women.

Addressing the Assistant Engineer, District Secretary Arup Mallick stressed that the issue at hand is of public interest and should be executed without any political bias. However, he cautioned that if the necessary action is not taken promptly, the AJSU Party has decided to initiate a movement to advocate for better road construction. The consequences of inaction will be evident in the days to come. Several members of the AJSU Party District Committee, including Kirtiwas Mandal, Lalan Jha, Hemant Pathak, Praveen Prasad, Swaroop Mallik, Sanjay Karwa, Lalit Singh, Pramod Choubey, Saheb Bagti, Ashutosh Mishra, Rajneesh Singh, Rajeev Kumar, Ajay Giri, Ravikesh Singh, Roshan Mukhi, Suraj Mukhi, Rajkishore Mukhi, Satya Prakash Pathak, Subhash Besra, were present during the submission of the memorandum.
