Ranchi: Chief Minister Hemant Soren today said a decision on the domicile policy of Jharkhand will be taken during the monsoon session.
He appealed to all political parties of the state to give their suggestions on the domicile policy during an all-party meeting convened today at Project Building.
Addressing the meeting, Soren said the various political parties should give their written suggestions on the domicile policy to the state government so that a final decision could be taken during the monsoon session. He also sought the objections of the parties on the domicile policy proposal discussed earlier by the government.
Some of the political parties objected to the current domicile policy proposal and asked the CM to make necessary amendments to remove anomalies.
The CM asked the parties to submit written suggestions within two days. A report on the suggestions will be prepared by the Department of Personnel, Administration Reforms and Rajbhasha. The government will take a decision after holding discussions on the domicile issue.
The meeting was attended by Vinod Pandey and Ashok Kumar Singh of JMM, Sukhdev Bhagat of Congress, Barkunwar Gagrai of BJP, Girinath Singh of RJD, Dr Devsharan Bhagat of AJSU, Rajiv Ranjan Prasad of JVm, Bhuvneshwar Kevat of CPI (ML), Bhuvneshwar Mehta of CPI, Shital Ohdar of MSS, Gopikant Bakhshi of CPM and NK Jha of JD (U).
