Dead patient relatives accuse Tata Motors Jamshedpur doctors of negligence

Jamshedpur, October 15. Babita Rai (42), resident of Radhikanagar under Telco police station, died during treatment at Tata Motors Hospital.

On Sunday, Babita’s family reached Telco police station regarding the matter. However, the family members have refused to conduct post-mortem of the body. Regarding which no written complaint has been made till now in the police station.

Giving information, Rajneesh’s brother Ashish said that Babita was admitted to Tata Motors Hospital on October 7 on the complaint of stomach pain. Babita was being examined by Dr Somnath and Dr Shipra Sarkar of the hospital. Babita’s uterus was operated on October 9. He alleged that due to negligence in the operation, there was a hole in Babita’s intestine.

He further alleged that even the doctors were not aware of this and Babita was shifted to the ward, Babita developed stomach infection. The doctors hurriedly performed another operation and put her on a ventilator.

On October 13, doctors declared Babita dead.

Ashish told that he had requested the hospital management about airlifting Babita and getting her treatment done in Hyderabad, but the management said that it is trying its best.

The MP reached the hospital on 13 October. Babita was declared dead just an hour after the MP left the hospital.

Ashish told that people from Babita’s maternal side live in the US.

  1. Our fight will continue till we get justice for her death and no one has to face similar situation in future. As we are fighting for Tata motors and Cummins employees and their families future. So that such extreme negligences can not be repeated again.
