Seraikela: The deputy commissioner of Seraikela-Kharsawan Ramesh Gholap here on Tuesday convened a meeting with the officials of different government departments and reviewed the implementation of various development and welfare schemes.

Addressing the meeting, Gholap said the public distribution system (PDS) shops will be given to self help groups (SHGs) so that distribution of food-grains and other necessaries to the poor people is carried out efficiently.

The DC said that stringent action should be taken against those PDS shop dealers who were found involved in black-marketing of food-grains meant to be distributed among the villagers.

The DC said that all department officials should put in efforts to weed out corruption from the government offices. He said the scholarships of students should be given to them in time.
