Jamshedpur: The deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Amit Kumar held a meeting to review the performance of Kharif Task Force in the district.
He was informed by the district agriculture officer that production target had been achieved by 97.3 per cent in paddy, 93.3 per cent in maize, 92 per cent in pulses and 86 per cent in oil-yielding crops. He was also informed that Kulthi, Urad (black gram) and Sarbuja will be sown in the month of September.
Kumar sought updates on the progress of work in issuance of Kisan Credit Cards (KCC) in various blocks of the district. He was told that 9000 such cards are to be issued for which applications have been sent to banks.
The agriculture officer said only 2500 such applications had been approved so far.
The DC directed the agriculture officer to examine soil health cards and upload the results on the government website concerned.
He was told that 5000 soil health cards will be distributed on the occasion of Garib Kalyan Mela on 17th September. Pumps sets will also be distributed among the farmers, the agriculture officer said.
Reviewing the fishery department, Kumar asked the district fishery officer to select place for the construction of ponds and housing units. He further asked the dairy development officials to ensure construction of Medha milk booths in JNAC, MNAC and Jugsalai municipality areas.
The DC asked all officials concerned to ask Kisan Mitras, Gokul Mitras, Udyan Mitras and Matsya Mitras to help construct toilets and provide their photographs to the district administration.
