DBMUN Conference begins in DAV Bistupur

Jamshedpur, Feb 10: DAV Public School, Bistupur hosted the eighth edition of DAV Bistupur Model United Nations. The Model United Nations Conference (DBMUN) is Steel City’s oldest and largest school-run MUN. The three-day conference began on Thursday, February 10 virtually.

The opening ceremony was presided over by Pragya Singh, Principal, DAV Bistupur.

Addressing the gathering, Principal said, “You students are the optimistic destiny of your generation”. She urged the delegates to be the catalyst for notable change to our world. She further added that DBMUN platform is a unique opportunity for everyone to raise awareness on “A Clean and Healthy Planet”. We, as individuals must develop a sense of cleanliness and discipline in the children by mobilizing them towards keeping their surroundings and school clean. With this broad vision in mind, she urged the students to glide above their textual matter and think critically along with human concern.

The DBMUN Conference was declared open by the Secretary General, Kaustubh Pathak.

AIPPM (All India Political Parties’ Meet) discussed various agendas including-Needed Economic Reforms in India with focus on- MSME and unorganized sector and what can be done to strengthen them, rise in inflation. UNSC (United Nations Security Council) discussed dealing with the new regime in Afghanistan after withdrawal of US Troops.

UNHRC (United Nations Human Rights Council) talked about devising methods to prevent human rights abuses and gendered violence among others.

UNWOMEN (United Nations Entity for Gender Equality and the Empowerment of Women) talked on discussing the promotion of gender equality and education for supporting women empowerment.

UNFCCC (United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change) discussed about deliberations on decarbonization of energy production among others.

The session ended on a high note with delegates representing different countries and portfolios deliberated and discussed on vexing global and national issues. They shared their profound sense of knowledge and debate with each other and collaborated with each other to find solutions to the problems at hand and pass meaningful resolutions.
