DAV Bistupur hosts Mega Tinkering Day, students build innovative vacuum cleaners

Jamshedpur, Aug 13: DAV Public School, Bistupur, in collaboration with the Atal Innovation Mission, organised the Mega Tinkering Day 2025 to inspire creativity and innovation among students. The event, held on Tuesday, focused on a hands-on project where participants built vacuum cleaners using kits from the school’s Atal Tinkering Lab.

Ten teams, each with 3–4 members, took part in the challenge, demonstrating problem-solving skills, teamwork, and technical creativity. Mentor Neha Sharma from the Atal Innovation Mission guided the participants via Zoom, providing step-by-step instructions to assemble the devices.

The day featured live demonstrations of working models and an interactive Q&A session, where student innovators also showcased additional prototypes in robotics, renewable energy, smart devices, and sustainable solutions. Judges and teachers provided real-time feedback, encouraging students to refine their ideas.

Speaking on the occasion, Pragya Singh, ARO-cum-Principal of DAV Public School, Bistupur, said, “Mega Tinkering Day is not just about building projects – it’s about building curiosity, confidence, and a culture of innovation. Live streaming has given our students a global platform to share ideas and learn from feedback beyond classroom walls.”

The success of the event’s online format highlighted the school’s commitment to integrating technology into learning, making education both inclusive and far-reaching for young innovators.
