Jamshedpur, Jan 28: The 71st Republic Day was marked by permeation of cultural colours and patriotic pledges all across the city. Social organizations, educational institutions, business associations, housing complex residents and political wings were varied venues where the tricolor was hoisted with pride, pledges, sweets and cultural programmes.
Parsudih Cooperative Society Colony: The residents of this Colony organized Republic Day celebrations near the Shiv-Hanuman-Durga Temple complex. The national flag was hoisted by Prof Shukla and residents of all ages sang the national anthem with zest. Arvind Singh and Pradip Dutta were among the many who were present on the occasion. Sweets were distributed and patriotic songs were rendered as part of the celebration.
Parsudih Haat Bazaar: Shopkeepers of Parsudih Haat Bazaar organized Republic Day celebration near the Shiv Temple where the national flag was hoisted by Arvind Burman. The national anthem was sung and sweets were distributed. Those present included Ladai Muria, Lulu Mahto, Mona Debnath, Abhi, Sadhan, Govind and others.
Sonari Swarn Vihar: Jharkhandvasi Vikas Samiti organized Republic Day celebrations at its office near Kali Temple in Swarn Vihar Apartment. The national flag was hoisted by High Court advocate couple Lakshmi and sanjay Kumar Pandey. After singing of the national anthem, 150 children from economically fragile backgrounds were presented school stationary and sweets. Samiti founder and secretary Manil Mahto along with other members Rohit Lohra, Ram Singh, Abhishek Chowdhary, Manoj Nayar, Mukesh Mahto, Babu Ram Mahto, Pankaj Singh, Sachidanand Singh, Pankaj Sahu and Narayan was present.
Kailashnagar Vyavsai Samiti: The tricolor was hoisted at the office of Kailashnagar Vyavsai Samiti at Lal Baba Complex in Burmamines and at many other places in the locality. Sweets were distributed and all present took a pledge to ensure the unity of the country.
Bal Vidya Bharati School: the 71st Republic Day was observed by teachers, students, staff members and parents at Bal Vidya Bharati English and Hindi Medium High School on DB Road in Jugsalai. The flag was unfurled by chief guest and patron of Jamshedpur Chamber of Commerce Mohanlal Agrawal who urged students to study with devotion and thus create a bright future for themselves and the nation. The school�s headmaster also spoke on the occasion.
Vaishya Sammelan: The Jharkhand unit of Antrashtriya Vaishya Sammelan organized the 71st Republic Day celebration at Gadra Panchayat in Govindpur. The organization�s members took an oath to maintain India�s unity and make it the best democracy in the world. Sammelan members present were state president Mohanlal Agrawal, working state president Ram Daras Chaurasia, youth state general secretary Akash Shah and other senior members.
BJYM, Bistupur unit: The national flag was unfurled by BJYM, Bistupur unit at N Road Vegetable Market by BJP Mahila Morcha state secretary Rita Mishra. The national anthem was sung and sweets distributed among children. In her speech, Rita Mishra said that the Constitution empowered citizens to elect their political representatives. She said, �Our freedom fighters and our leaders sacrificed their lives to attain freedom for our country so that we may be able to live in peace and amicably. It was this freedom that gave us our Constitution that clearly defines our rights as citizens, our duties and our responsibilities.�
BJYM Bistupur Mandal general secretary Pintu Kumar Sah, Krishna Kumar Gupta, Dipak Kumar, Rahul Kumar, Kallu Sonekar, Rama Devi, Surendra Kaur, Rita Jha, Ranju Jha, Suman and Punam were present on the occasion.
Jan Satyagrah: Sanjay Singh of social organization Jan Satyagrah unfurled the national flag in the slum area, Gandhinagar. Jan Satyagrah patron and chief guest Manjit Kumar Mishra said on the occasion, �It is our social responsibility to ensure education to these slum children so that they can be channelized into the mainstream that would add impetus to the development of our country.� Others present on the occasion included Durga Prasad, Satyendra Sharma, Mahesh Paswan, Tabrez Khan, Damodar Sahu, Dashrath Sahu and the basti dwellers.
