Ranchi: New chief secretary(CS) Rajiv Gauba said that he would hold a high-level meeting with senior officials on Naxalite problem in the State within a couple of days.
Gauba was addressing the presspersons at his chamber at Project Bhavan here today. The CS reached his office at 9 am on Wednesday and cleared files. It was his first day in office after taking the charge of chief secretary.
Gauba expressed that development is an ongoing process and his priority would be to implement policty decisions of the government in an expedited manner.
The CS said that he would a review meeting next two days on the prevailing law and order scenario in the State and the Naxalite problem with high officials in the government. Gauba said that he is studying the affairs of various departments in the government since he took charge.
The chief secretary further said that he had gathered experience while working with Union Home Ministry on how to tackle the menace ultra activities.
He observed that Maoist activities are the greatest threat to Jharkhand and to tackle it development process would has to be accelerated along with enhancing security mechanism.
