Cops arrest two criminals with 5 guns and 22 live cartridges

Jamshedpur, Dec 3: Acting on a tip of Bistupur and Sakchi Police in a joint operation arrested two criminals and recovered four country-made pistol, a 9mm pistol and 22 live cartridges from their possession while two managed to flee the scene.

The arrested duo includes Sonu Mishra, resident of Baghbera and Abhijeet Majumdar alias Toni of Birsanagar. Two criminals who managed to escape were Anoop Chakraborty of Baghbera and Babu Bangali resident of Carriage Colony Burmamines. A case has been registered at Sakchi Police Station with PS case number 255/14 dated December 3, 2014.

Narrating about the incident, SSP Amol V Homkar talking to the media persons on Wednesday evening said that the team of both the police station acted on a tip off. Police started surprise checking of the vehicles near Bag-E-Jamshed School roundabout.

As police tried to stop 4 men in two different motorcycles they tried to run away were Sakchi PS incharge grabbed the men near Red Cross Bhawan and arrested two men with pistols while two other managed to escape, added Homkar.

According to SSP the police officials are raiding different parts of the city in order to arrest the other two men. The arrested criminals have a case registered against them.

SSP further informed that the arrested Sonu Mishra along with his three other colleagues had plans of murdering a Baghbera based businessmen in one of his old revenge.

Sometimes back the four criminals were on the way to kill Santosh who illegally conducted oil cutting business in Burmamines but they couldn�t find Santosh, Abhijeet alias Toni shot at Ghanshyam Jha named auto driver.

The case has been registered at Burmamines Police Station on November 23, 2014. At the press meet City SP Karthik S and other police officials were present.
