Contractor found dead under suspicious circumstances inside Tata Steel Jamshedpur plant

Jamshedpur, Feb 25: Days after Tata Steel contract worker Laxmi Soren succumbed to injuries, a dead body of contractor was found inside the company premises on Tuesday, February 25. The deceased identified as Umesh Pandey was found at the Auction Yard of the company. As the security department got the news of a body lying inside the premises the auction yard area of the company was sealed and soon the police was informed about the same. According to sources, the dead body was found lying and it seems to be a case of suicide. Police and security department of the company has started investigation as to how a person can commit suicide inside the company premises. At around 12.30 pm people inside the company saw a dead body lying and they informed the same to security department. When the security officials arrived at the spot the deceased was identified as Umesh Pandey.

“It is with extreme grief and sorrow that we wish to inform the demise of a contractor in his workplace in the plant premises. At 12:15 pm today, Umesh Pandey of M/S Spare Care  was reported to  have been found hanging.  Immediately, the Police were informed of this incident and the body was sent for Post Mortem. The prima facie evidence shows that it is a case of suicide. The matter is under investigation. The relatives of the deceased have been informed about this sad incident,” said a company statement.
