Container truck driver dies in road mishap

Jamshedpur, Dec 24; A driver of a goods container vehicle died in a collision between a container truck and a truck near Shashan village under Baharagora thana on NH-6 on Thursday morning.  

The incident happened on the stretch leading to Jamshola inter-state check point.

According to police, the truck carrying oranges from Odisha and collided with a container truck coming from the opposite direction leading to the driver of the goods laden container vehicle, identified as Ram Shankar Yadav  (55) sustaining grievous injuries on head and leg portion and was rushed in a highway ambulance to Baharagora community health centre from where the doctors referred him to MGM Hospital in Jamshedpur.

However, Ram Shankar Yadav died while being taken to Jamshedpur on the road near Dhalbhumgarh and was brought back to Baharagora community health centre and sent for post-mortem by the police to Ghatshila sub divisional hospital.

According to police sources, the deceased driver was a resident of Siwan district of Bihar. The driver and helper of the orange laden truck fled from the spot leaving the truck bearing registration number OD-11C-4519 while the container truck had a registration number of WB-23C-9294.
