Chaibasa, July 12: Members of the West Singhbhum District Mahila Congress Committee staged a dhrana in front of deputy commissioners office on Tuesday protesting against the NDA governments 7th Pay Commission.
They alleged that the increments offered by this Pay Commission are the lowest in the 70-year of history of the country.
While addressing the demonstrators, Mahila Committee president Laxmi Purty said that 7th Pay Commission decision would demoralize the government servants.
Congress district president Sunny Sinku said that despite the fall of crude oil prices in the international market, the NDA government failed to keep the market price in check.
On the other hand, instead of going into the market situation, NDA government has increased only 14 percent in principal salary of the government servants, which is very little increment in view of present market rates.
A large number of Congress activists took part in the dharna.
