Jamshedpur: The court of ADJ (2) Ashok Kumar issued a show-cause notice to the deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum on Wednesday to explain the delay in giving compensation to a rape victim of Baridih. It questioned the rationale behind the delay in giving the compensation despite the court ordering the administration to give the compensation within a month.
The victim�s advocate said the court had ordered to give Rs 75,000 to the victim as compensation. The court issued the show-cause notice after a petition was filed by the victim�s advocate to complain about the delay.
The victim had got pregnant after the rape incident. The accused was arrested. Later, High Court ordered the victim�s abortion.
