Jamshedpur: Actor Pavan Malhotra known for his role in TV series on Doordarshan, �Nukkad� in 1986, which got him noticed till coaching Farhan Akhtar as Gurudev Singh in �Bhaag Milkha Bhaag� in 2013, has made a name for himself as a versatile and committed actor.
The actor played the role of Deep Singh Rana in the recently released Punjabi movie �Punjab 1984�,as Tejpal Singh in �Zorawar� and upcoming movie �Bang Bang� starring Hrithik Roshan and Kartina Kaif slated to release on October 2 this year.
The actor was in Jamshedpur to participate in the Jagran film festival where he shared his experience with the theater artists and students of mass communication at Motilal Nehru Public School and also talked about his TV serial Nukkad and the Bollywood movies he is working.
Talking to The Avenue Mail, Pavan said �I never thought of working in films but one of my friends took me to a theatre where I learned acting as an audience, this may be the reason I�m working in films, audience knows me more for my acting than my name�. He said if you work hard and focus on your job anything is possible, films are tougher when comparing it with theatre but the experience of working in theatre does count.
Be it Om Puri�s younger brother in �Delhi 6�, as a small Pattha of Daud-E-Brahim in �Mann Gae Mughal-E- Azam�, Kareena Kapoor�s uncle in Jab We Met and Farhan Akhtar�s Coach in Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Pavan has worked in TV serials and in several main stream bollywood movies.
Pavan further said �I get satisfaction by doing Parallel films and this is the reason I�m associated with the industry. I want to be a part of different types of movies as it fulfills all the needs of the society�. His forthcoming projects include films Bhagat Puran Singh and Bang-Bang.
When asked what message do films like �Kick� give to the society, Malhotra said, �It is not true that commercial films are bad and art movies are good for society. Both types of films give us entertainment.�
The actor further said it is not that one cannot move into films without working in theatre there are several stars in the industry who are sitting pretty at the top and they have never ever worked in a theatre.
People have their own opinions as they go on criticizing films. Criticism does make a film better, Pavan signed off.
