Collecting toll tax thrice not justified: SCCI

Jamshedpur, Dec 19: Singhbhum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) president Vijay Anand Moonka and honorary general secretary Manav Kedia Monday said the collection of toll tax from commuters at three places on the way from Adityapur to Chaibasa was not justified. The commuters are made to pay toll tax at Adityapur Toll Bridge, Kandra Toll Bridge and Chaibasa Toll Bridge, they said.

“Adityapur is just 60 km away from Chaibasa. But the people traveling from here to Chaibasa have to pay the toll tax thrice. This is neither justified nor logical,” said Moonka.

The Chamber functionaries requested Chief Minister Hemant Soren to order scrapping of toll tax collection at two of the three places in larger public interest.
