Jamshedpur, Jan 2: In a dramatic turn of events on Tuesday evening around 9 PM, tensions flared up near Kashidih Durga Puja Ground as a group of boys engaged in a heated argument and scuffle with a roadside eatery vendor over payment. The situation escalated when Senior BJP leader Abhay Singh, coming to the vendor’s aid, attempted to defuse the tension. However, the enraged group reportedly pushed Singh away, triggering a physical altercation between Singh’s supporters and the group of boys. Subsequently, the boys retreated towards Kashidih Basti.

Shortly after, a contingent of Kashidih Basti residents returned to the scene, confronting Abhay Singh and his supporters. The altercation took a violent turn, resulting in the destruction of several two-wheelers and car windshields. Upon receiving information, Sakchi police swiftly arrived at the location. Abhay Singh informed the police that the area is a notorious gathering spot for young men who indulge in drug and alcohol consumption, leading to disturbances. He highlighted that in the evenings, people frequent the eatery carts along the road for leisure.

Nirbhay Singh, the brother of Abhay Singh, has submitted a formal written complaint to the police, detailing the sequence of events. Currently, the police are actively investigating the matter to ascertain the root cause and those responsible for the clash. The incident underscores the need for community harmony and raises concerns about public safety in the Kashidih Basti area.
