
Jamshedpur: With the model code of conduct coming into force, civic bodies continue to undertook a massive drive removing illegal hoardings and posters from different public places , buildings and roundabouts.
The urban civic body engaged workers for pulling down banners, posters and hoardings of political party leaders near the Gandhi Maidan, statue of Khudiram Bose and Jai Prakash Narayan Setu ( or the new Mango bridge). More than 50 hoardings and banners from those areas were removed. Jamshedpur Notified Area Committee ( JNAC) and Jugsalai Municipality have also started the drive.
� We are ensuring that the model code of conduct is implemented in letter and spirit and any lapses on the part of the parties would invite stern actions,� said MNAC special officer , Deepak Sahay.
Deputy commissioner of East Singhbhum Ravi Shankar Shukla has issued instructions for withdrawal of all banners, posters, pamphlets and publicity materials within stipulated deadline from government offices and other public places, failing which an FIR would be lodged against those political parties.
