Jamshedpur : CII is organising a seminar on �Empowering SMEs through ICT Intervention� on 10 December at The Alcor Hotel.

The objective of this seminar is to help SMEs transition to and benefit from the modern IT. This Seminar will bring all key stakeholders under one roof and provide a platform for the SMEs to interact with the ICT service providers and understand the products and services which can enhance competitiveness, productivity and business prospects and global outreach.

Participation in this Seminar will add tremendous value to the SMEs by understanding how IT solutions can enhance their productivity and market reach many fold.

N N Sinha, IAS, Principal Secretary, Department of Information Technology, will inaugurated the seminar.

According to a recent survey, if more Indian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) adopt the latest IT tools, there is a potential for SMEs to grow their revenue by Rs 3 lakh crores and create 11 lakh new jobs.

Over the past three years, revenues of the IT-enabled SMEs grew 15 percent faster and created twice as many jobs, when compared to SMEs which used less technology.

Technological advancement such as cloud services brings potential for the most far-reaching innovation and business growth ever, creating an opportunity for more SMEs to achieve the growth rates of technology leaders by leveraging technology to fuel productivity and growth.

The ICT Industry is fully equipped to meet the challenging requirements of the SMEs and for SMEs, adoption of ICT for business operations has become a necessity to become globally competitive.
